Tanya votes to lower all McHenry County elected officials salary's by ten percent (10%). This cut, along with the cut of medical benefits, could decrease the McHenry County Board expenses by seventy-one percent (71%). Plus, it could lead to an increase in our reserve fund, which currently only stands at five (5) months.
Tanya votes to remove McHenry County Board Members' insurance benefits. This would lead to a savings of more than $20,000 per participating board member which are all part-time employees. Tanya agreed the size of the board should be decreased from 24 to 18, which will also lead to a decrease in board expenses.
McHenry County has one of the highest property tax burdens in the country. More than 80% of our county's property taxes, fund our school and education, but Illinois can and should help. Creating an Ad Hoc Committee to address Springfield and speak on our behalf can change the way our schools are funded in our county.
Develop youth programs within the manual workforce of skilled trades. Encouraging youths learn and engage in trades, can lead to an exciting career within a continuing high-demand industry.
Tanya has proud family-ties. Her husband, Josh, is the grandson of the late Marge Jindrich, the first female president of the UAW 954 Local! She also served as a delegate to the National Women's Conference and the DNC. Tanya's sister-in-law, Morgan (née Jindrich) Baum, is currently running for Mayor in western MN.
In 2004, our Intergovernmental ICE contract began and has yet to be fully re-evaluated. The impacts are now proving to be a financial burden. Chicago's facility could safely house the detainees.
Active law enforcement and citizens are safer when using body cameras. This has been experienced within our county by the departments utilizing them. Grants can be responsible for the costs of implementation.
McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) does not currently test for COVID-19. Our residents deserve a low-cost local testing resource, as we make available for other contractible diseases to assist with safety and tracing.
Energy Innovation & Carbon Dividend Act places a consistent price on carbon and then returns a monthly energy divided to households (CF&D). It leads to lower carbon emissions plus, an increase in American jobs.
McHenry County needs our help. Small business revenue is down 39.5%, restaurants are down 42%, and 26.5% are closed/inactive. We must plan business re-vitality, plus healthcare assistance, business programs, and available grants.
Nearly 200 mass shootings, 22% of guns purchased without background checks, and the risk of suicide increases 3 times with gun access. Gun owners should be responsible, reasonable, and well-trained. Period.
